Myopia Control

Nearsightedness is a worsening global epidemic, and we at Michigan Eye and Contact Lens are responding. The progression of nearsightedness, or myopia, is influenced by a multitude of factors and can lead to retinopathy, glaucoma, and cataracts if left unchecked. The good news is that there are now several treatments available to prevent progression from occurring. Dr. Williamson and the staff at Michigan Eye and Contact Lens care deeply about our pediatric patients and are committed to providing the safest, most effective options to slow myopic progression in at-risk patients. Currently, those options include corneal reshaping, multi-focal soft lenses, and daily use of low-dose atropine. Which is right for your child depends on several factors, all of which will be reviewed at your appointment.
